The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the Nashville facility, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, assisting with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.

The Staff Accountant will prepare and post journal entries, perform monthly reconciliations, assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, and support audits and management reporting,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Progress toward CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances between actual and budgeted results.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with sales tax, use tax, and property tax reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and automate routine tasks.
• Partner with operations and other departments to resolve accounting issues.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances between actual and budgeted results.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with sales tax, use tax, and property tax reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and automate routine tasks.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
• Experience with ERP or accounting software systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Progress toward CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict month-end deadlines.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and read complex financial documentation.
