Job summary

Conexon, a rapidly growing telecommunications company partnering with Rural Electric Cooperatives, is seeking an accounts payable professional to support the accounting team at our downtown Kansas City headquarters. This full-time hybrid role reports to the accounting manager.

Responsibilities include handling day-to-day AP, maintaining vendor records, supporting invoicing and monthly statements, bank reconciliations, month-end close, and assisting with annual audits while collaborating with the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook; Sage Intacct a plus.

• Handle day-to-day accounts payable through bill creation and PO requests.
• Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and 1099 filings.
• Support customer invoicing and monthly customer statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly and assist with month-end close.
• Perform general bookkeeping entries and ensure policy compliance.
• Assist in annual audit processes and cross-department invoicing with construction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position would have primary responsibility of supporting the accounting team of this rapidly growing business and will have the opportunity to advance with the business. This position will be based at Conexon’s downtown Kansas City headquarters.

Location: Kansas City, MO -Hybrid: In office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Requirements

• Handle the day-to-day accounts payable process through bill creation and purchase order request
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including tracking W-9 forms and assisting with the annual 1099 filings
• Support customer invoicing and the monthly customer statements
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly as well as other month-end closing procedures
• Perform general bookkeeping entries
• Ensure compliance with an internal system of standard procedures and processes
• Assist in annual audit process
• Cross departmental collaboration with the construction team to ensure accuracy on invoicing for projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of financial accounting and ability to adhere to general accounting principles
• Motivated and organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• High standard of personal and professional integrity
• Flexibility and adaptability to assume additional responsibilities and accommodate report requests from management
• Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 2-3 years of experience directly related to the key duties of the role
