Kaman & Cusimano, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Indianapolis office. This newly created role offers an immediate impact and a path for long-term career growth within a collaborative team.

We value detail-oriented professionals with 1–2 years of accounting experience who can manage vendor invoices, payments, reconciliations, and month-end activities using MS Excel and ERP systems. This is an on-site, full-time position in Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field required.
• 1–2 years experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting desired.
• Proficiency with transaction coding, reconciliations, deposits, and data entry.
• Excel proficiency required; pivot tables and VLOOKUP helpful.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Business Central preferred.
• Law firm, professional services, or escrow/trust account experience a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process vendor invoices with coding and documentation.
• Prepare payments by check or credit card and maintain vendor records.
• Process incoming payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers).
• Prepare bank deposits and post payments to customer accounts.
• Code receipts, transactions, and budget line items in GL codes.
• Assist with reconciliations, journal entries, and GL activities.
• Support month-end close activities and firm processes.
• Help maintain escrow and trust account records.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with accounting colleagues across locations.

What You'll Do

• Enter and process vendor invoices with appropriate coding and documentation
• Prepare payments by check or credit card and maintain accurate vendor records
• Process incoming payments, including checks, ACH transactions, and wire transfers
• Prepare bank deposits for the Indianapolis office and accurately post payments to customer accounts
• Code receipts, transactions, and budget line items using established general ledger codes
• Assist with credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activities
• Support month-end close activities as you become familiar with the firm's processes
• Help maintain escrow and trust-related account records
• Assist with audits, reporting, internal documentation, and adherence to financial controls
• Collaborate virtually with accounting colleagues supporting the firm's other office locations

What We're Looking For

• Associate degree in accounting or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred
• One to two years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting
• Working knowledge of transaction coding, reconciliations, deposits, and accounting data entry
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage recurring accounting tasks accurately
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and spreadsheets; pivot table and VLOOKUP experience is helpful
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Business Central preferred
• Law firm, professional services, or escrow/trust account experience is a plus, but not required
