Job summary

Kaman & Cusimano, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Indianapolis office and support our growth. This newly created role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact while building a long-term career with a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of accounting experience (AP/AR/GL), strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel. Familiarity with Dynamics 365 is a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position in Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field required; bachelor’s preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting.
• Working knowledge of transaction coding, reconciliations, deposits, and data entry.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage recurring accounting tasks accurately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering; pivot tables and VLOOKUP helpful.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Business Central preferred.
• Law firm, professional services, or escrow/trust account experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process vendor invoices with appropriate coding and documentation.
• Prepare payments by check or credit card and maintain accurate vendor records.
• Process incoming payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Prepare bank deposits for the Indianapolis office and post payments to customer accounts.
• Code receipts, transactions, and budget line items using general ledger codes.
• Assist with credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activities.
• Support month-end close activities and firm processes.
• Maintain escrow and trust-related account records.
• Assist with audits, reporting, internal documentation, and financial controls.
• Collaborate virtually with accounting colleagues supporting other office locations.

What We're Looking For
