Job summary

LHH is partnering with a highly stable organization to hire a Staff Accountant - Operations to join its accounting and operations team in Houston. This role offers exposure to complex transactions, treasury activities, operational accounting, and process improvement initiatives in a professional, collaborative environment.

You will gain experience building on a strong accounting foundation and progressively take on more responsibility over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong general ledger and journal entries experience.
• Proficient in Excel, incl. Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
• Excellent communication and discretion.
• Interest in process improvement and automation.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable activities, including invoice coding, approvals, and payment processing
• Prepare and post journal entries for cash and non-cash transactions
• Support treasury operations, including wire transfers, banking activity, and account maintenance
• Assist with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and accounting research
• Track fixed assets and maintain supporting documentation
• Collaborate across departments to support operational and accounting initiatives
• Participate in process improvement projects and automation efforts
• Serve as a liaison between operations, accounting, and leadership teams
