The Intersect Group is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant / Accounting Professional to own the accounting function in a collaborative, employee-focused environment. You will ensure GAAP-based reporting, manage month-end close, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Staff Accountant with hands-on accounting knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CMA preferred, or actively pursuing certification.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.
• Self-starter mentality with strong attention to detail.
• Flexible environment that values initiative and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Manage journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and month-end close.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and cash flow analysis.
• Perform reconciliations and variance analysis, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with audits, internal controls, process documentation, and compliance initiatives.
• Partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and Finance teams.
• Support treasury activities, cash forecasting, and banking functions.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Assist with payroll as needed.
