Job summary

Claiborne Senior Living is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team at our headquarters in Hattiesburg, MS. You will prepare and analyze financial statements, maintain the general ledger, and support budgeting and month-end close.

You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience is required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Senior living, healthcare, or hospitality experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts monthly.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Participate in internal controls and audit preparation.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to leadership as requested.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.
