Benchmark Search is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role goes beyond general ledger work, offering hands-on involvement in financial reporting, payroll accounting, and operational analysis across multiple locations in a growing healthcare environment.

You will work with accounting leadership to close months, analyze variances, prepare reconciliations, and support audits while upholding internal controls and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Understanding of month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate financial variances.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger transactions.
• Support month-end close activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, and operational financial results to identify and explain variances.
• Manage payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Partner with operational teams to address accounting questions and provide financial insights.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation.
• Maintain compliance with established accounting policies and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
