Job summary

Savant Senior Living in Downey is hiring a Staff Accountant to manage financial records, ensure GAAP compliance, and perform full cycle accounting. The role requires 3+ years of experience and a California driver’s license. Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of Yardi are advantageous.

The position offers a competitive pay range ($80,000–$90,000 DOE) with benefits including vision, health insurance, a 401(k), FSAs, referral programs, and pet insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Must maintain a valid California Driver's License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record.
• Proficiency in MS Office systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records to track assets, liabilities, P&L, AR, purchasing, and related activities.
• Ensure records are GAAP-compliant and in line with policies and procedures.
• Understand full cycle accounting in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, P&L and balance sheet.
• Fully reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
• Organize and manage the AP process and AP cycle.
• Maintain accuracy of the liability section of the General Ledger.
• Review and code invoices, reconcile AP sub-ledger to GL, and close monthly books.
• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts and post cash receipts.

What you will do:

• Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, accounts receivable, purchasing, and other related financial activities.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and Agency policies and procedures.
• Understands Full cycle accounting in accordance to GAAP
• Prepares monthly Financial statements, P&L and BS
• Full reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Organize and have an AP process in place to manage the AP cycle.
• Maintains the accuracy of the liability section of the General Ledger
• Reviews and codes invoices, reconciles AP sub vs GL accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, and posts cash receipts

Must haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.
• Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Skilled Management policy
• Proficiency in MS Office systems

Would be great:

• Experience working in the senior care industry
• Ability to “roll up their sleeves”, learn quick and get the job done
• Knowledge of Yardi
• Prior experience in property management
