Job summary

Savant Senior Living is seeking a Staff Accountant in Downey, CA. The role reports to the Controller and focuses on maintaining financial records, ensuring GAAP compliance, and managing the full AP/GL cycle. A bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 3 years of related experience are required; CA driver’s license is also needed.

Experience with Yardi is a plus. Competitive benefits and a significant role in a compassionate senior care team. Pay rate $80,000–$90,000 per year DOE.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office and GAAP accounting principles.
• CA driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records; manage assets, liabilities, P&L, AR, and purchasing.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and company policies.
• Perform full cycle accounting; prepare monthly financial statements, P&L and balance sheet.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and manage AP processes; close monthly books.

What you will do:

• Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, accounts receivable, purchasing, and other related financial activities.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and Agency policies and procedures.
• Understands Full cycle accounting in accordance to GAAP
• Prepares monthly Financial statements, P&L and BS
• Full reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Organize and have an AP process in place to manage the AP cycle.
• Maintains the accuracy of the liability section of the General Ledger
• Reviews and codes invoices, reconciles AP sub vs GL accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, and posts cash receipts

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.
• Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Skilled Management policy
• Proficiency in MS Office systems
