Harrison Group, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This hands-on, individual contributor role supports the Controller and Assistant Controller across the accounting function and offers runway to take on broader ownership over time.

You will work with property management and leasing teams, support monthly closes, reconciliations, and reporting for multiple entities in a fast-paced, in-person environment.

• Solid general accounting fundamentals and ability to handle reconciliations and recurring close work with minimal oversight.
• Previous public accounting experience is a strong plus.
• Real estate or CAM reconciliation experience is a plus, not a requirement.

A growing real estate investment and operating platform based in Cedar Rapids is hiring a Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This is an individual-contributor role with broad, hands-on exposure across the accounting function — not limited to one task — supporting the Controller and Assistant Controller on the team's day-to-day workload. The business has outgrown what its current staff can own well, and this role offers real runway to grow into more ownership over time.

What You'll Do

• Support the monthly close process across a property portfolio and operating companies — preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
• Assist with consolidating property-level and company-level financials into accurate, reliable reporting
• Partner with leasing and property management teams on tenant receivables and property-level payables, helping resolve discrepancies and keep the ledger current
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance as needed
• Support debt payment postings and other recurring accounting processes alongside the finance team
• Take on ad hoc accounting projects and analysis as priorities shift — this role isn't limited to one recurring task
• Hold a disciplined close timeline, meeting deadlines or communicating proactively when something will slip
