Job summary

A growing real estate organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for an early-career candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 1–2 years of experience. Key responsibilities include recording transactions, assisting with financial statements, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate.
• Experience with accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or QuickBooks is preferred.

Responsibilities

Our client is a growing real estate organization seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 1–2 years of accounting experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant with a strong foundation, a great attitude, and a genuine desire to learn and grow within real estate accounting.

You’ll support day-to-day accounting operations across multiple properties and legal entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily accounting transactions, including AP, AR, and general ledger activity
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
• Perform bank, credit card, and escrow account reconciliations
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and variance analyses
• Partner with property management and operations teams to resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate documentation and support internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1–2 years of accounting experience (real estate experience a plus, not required)
• Experience with accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, QuickBooks, or similar (preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to property management or real estate accounting
• Understanding of lease structures and property-level financials
