Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, including AP and GL responsibilities.
• Experience handling both paper and paperless invoice systems.
• Strong understanding of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices (paper and electronic), ensuring proper coding and approvals.
• Manage invoice workflows, including scanning, filing, and maintaining organized digital records.
• Perform General Ledger (GL) reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclasses.
• Support month-end close processes and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Assist with payment processing (checks, ACH, wire transfers).
• Maintain vendor records and support audit requests as needed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP and accounting processes.

Compensation: $26 - $32/hour (DOE)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable, General Ledger reconciliation, and journal entries. This role will work with both paper and paperless invoice processes and play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records.
