Job summary

Specialty Construction, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and reporting directly to the Controller. The role covers journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and quarter-end closing in a growing construction business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Strong accrual accounting understanding.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a construction business is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, AR, AP, inventory, and credit cards.
• Assist with quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset schedules.
• Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management.
• Maintain documentation for audits and year-end tax filings.
• Support financial reporting and analysis.
• Create and submit G702/703 AIA billing documents.
• Create and maintain waivers and sub-tier waivers.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and GAAP.
