Job summary

Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, IA is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse to provide essential nursing care, assessment, and wellness support within the clinic setting. You will direct and support nursing staff and help implement clinical policies to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

The PRN position offers flexibility with open hours (Mon-Fri 8am–5pm) and starting pay of $27.58 (ADN) or $28.58 (BSN) per hour, with higher rates based on experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Iowa.
• ACLS certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• PALS certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage nursing care essential to assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of patient health.
• Direct and support nursing/clinical personnel providing patient care.
• Evaluate, revise, and implement clinical policies and procedures for safe, quality care.
• Maintain clinical staff records and education records; conduct in-services.

MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

About The Job

The Clinic Registered Nurse is responsible for managing nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of patient's health and wellness within their scope of practice. The Clinic Registered Nurse will direct and support nursing/clinical personnel providing patient care within the facility as assigned by the Clinic Director or RN Supervisor. This includes the evaluation, revision, and implementation of clinical policies and procedures related to the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care; maintenance of clinical staff personnel and education records; in-services and performs Clinical Staff functions.

The Position:

PRN, work as needed

Pay:

Starts at $27.58 for ADN and $28.58 for BSN, both increase with experience.

Shift:

Varies from open hours, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm

Position Qualifications

• Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in professional nursing.
  • Current R.N. licensure in the State of Iowa.
  • ACLS certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • PALS certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Experience:
  • Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred.
• Special Skills & Aptitudes:
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and support for the principles of customer relations in daily activities with others.
  • Maintains certification in BLS/CPR.
  • Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
  • Develops competency to provide care within the assigned unit to the population described in the scope of care.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
