Job summary

SK hynix memory solutions America Inc. in San Jose seeks a Bachelor’s/Master’s student for a 6‑month internship focused on NAND flash firmware for SSD controllers and BSP improvements. You will collaborate with SoC/hardware/validation teams and contribute to high‑quality embedded software development.

The role requires C/C++, ARM architecture, Linux basics, and debugging with JTAG/ICE. Start date is September/October 2026, 40 hours/week, in‑person in San Jose, CA, with compensation of $35–$45

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge over NAND flash commands
• Experience in NAND management algorithms or error coding
• Proficient in C or C++
• Firmware for SSD/NAND controllers or flash firmware at kernel level
• Debugging with JTAG/ICE
• Strong code and design review skills
• Produce product‑level quality output
• Software design in embedded controller environments
• Strong BSP background with device drivers and datasheet reading
• Creative/analytic problem solving and teamwork
• Good oral and written communication
• ARM architecture knowledge; ARM assembly a plus
• Linux kernel, device drivers and storage software stack a plus
• Firmware for Flash Interface Layer of SSD
• Integrate code with other modules; debug FPGA/ASIC
• Proactive teamwork and cross‑team engagement
