Job summary

SK hynix memory solutions America Inc. in San Jose seeks a Sr. Staff / Principal Firmware Engineer to design and implement the Flash Interface Layer for SSDs. You will integrate firmware with other modules and resolve issues across FPGA/ASIC environments.

With 5+ years of firmware experience and strong C/C++ skills, you will debug using JTAG/Emulators and apply deep NAND flash knowledge, BSP and device-driver experience to deliver high-performance storage solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in firmware or related field.
• Experience with NAND flash commands and operations.
• Experience developing NAND management algorithms or error control coding.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming for firmware.
• Hands-on firmware design for SSD/NAND controllers or flash firmware at kernel level.
• Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG or in-circuit emulators.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement firmware for the Flash Interface Layer of SSDs.
• Integrate firmware with other modules and resolve integration issues.
• Debug and fix bugs in FPGA/ASIC environments.
• Collaborate actively with SoC, hardware and validation teams.
