Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking Special Agent (SRT) to execute high-risk rail security and tactical operations, protecting personnel, assets and critical infrastructure. Travel with short notice across the field is required. Training will occur at corporate HQ in Fort Worth, TX, and on-site locations.

Applicants must be sworn officers with POST certification and meet rigorous fitness, background, and firearms standards. Relocation may be offered within 50 miles of the Los Angeles location.

Qualifications

• Must meet peace officer commissioning standards and hold a valid State Peace Officer License.
• Must be willing to travel frequently, work irregular hours, and be on 24/7 on-call.
• Minimum of 3 years of sworn law enforcement experience.
• Experience coordinating operations with multiple agencies.
• Knowledge of rail operations and infrastructure protection.

Responsibilities

• Participates in multi-state deployments and surge operations.
• Maintains readiness of specialized tactical equipment and vehicles.
• Supports 24/7 operational capability and on-call rotations.
• Executes SRT missions including high-risk apprehensions and rail interdiction.
• Deploys rapidly to incidents across the BNSF network while maintaining safety.
