Job summary

BNSF Railway in Barstow, CA is seeking a sworn Special Agent for the Special Response Team (SRT) to advance security across the rail network. You will lead high-risk operations, coordinate with partner agencies, and deploy rapidly to incidents while upholding strict safety standards.

The role requires extensive travel, ongoing training at corporate HQ in Fort Worth and on-site, and eligibility for federal interstate authority. This is a full-time position with relocation support considered.

Qualifications

• Must meet peace officer commissioning standards and hold a valid license in the posting state.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work irregular hours, with 24/7 on-call availability.
• Minimum of 3 years sworn law enforcement experience.
• Experience coordinating operations with multiple law enforcement agencies.
• Knowledge of rail operations, critical infrastructure protection and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multi-state deployments and surge operations with SRT.
• Maintain readiness of specialized tactical equipment and vehicles.
• Support 24/7 operational capability and on-call rotations.
• Execute SRT missions including high-risk apprehensions and rail interdiction.
• Deploy rapidly to incidents while ensuring safety and discipline.
