Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to manage front desk intake and visit flow in a busy clinic. The role requires greeting patients, collecting demographics and insurance details, and supporting billing and scheduling activities with a focus on accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

The position emphasizes patient education on sexual and reproductive health, adherence to HIPAA policies, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid New York driver's license preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.
• Prior Planned Parenthood employment and health care experience preferred.
• Proficiency in other languages preferred.
• Previous experience in a high-volume customer service role.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and collect all pertinent demographic and billing information.
• Schedule management, triage calls, and prepare charts for visits.
• Process payments and co-pays; assist with insurance eligibility and applications as applicable.
• Maintain waiting areas and respond to patient requests.
• Follow HIPAA policies and procedures and protect patient confidentiality.
• Assist in documentation in the EHR and ensure accurate data capture for services.
• Support health center productivity and revenue cycle goals.
