Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a Software Engineer D SRE to strengthen the reliability of distributed retail and pharmacy platforms. You will implement observability, response to incidents, and automation across edge computing fleets deployed in store locations.

The role emphasizes ownership, automation, and proactive reliability work within an active transformation. Strong SRE fundamentals, programming experience, and cloud/container skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering or related roles with production systems responsibility.
• 2+ years delivering software in large-scale distributed environments with reliability concepts.
• 1+ year of production-level coding in Python, Go, Bash, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Implement alerting and dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Jaeger, and OpenTelemetry.
• Define and refine SLI/SLOs for assigned services under guidance.
• Write unit and integration tests for SRE tooling and automation scripts.
• Follow and improve runbooks; flag gaps and ambiguities for remediation.
• Support performance testing and reliability audits; contribute to automation and DevX.
• Build fleet-scale awareness and contribute to deployment strategies and automation.
