Job summary

WEX is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Platform Reliability organization in Boston. The role focuses on observability, incident response, reliability, and performance, collaborating with engineering teams to improve service quality.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in SRE or similar, development experience, and proficiency with Docker/Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and monitoring tools. This is a fast-paced, collaborative role in a 24x7 rotation environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or equivalent role.
• 2+ years of development experience with at least one major programming language.
• Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with observability and logging technologies.
• Experience with at least one major RDBMS and NoSQL data store.

Responsibilities

• Dig deep into code, networking, OS, or storage to solve complex issues.
• Develop automation and monitoring tools to ensure reliability.
• Participate in incident response and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to 24x7 SRE rotations and escalation workflows.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize configurations.
