Job description

Manages all warehouse activities. Provides guidance, expertise, and leadership to Warehouse Managers, Supervisors, and Associates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.

1. Manage Warehouse Managers, Supervisors, and Associates, providing guidance and expertise.
2. Responsible for all warehouse operations.
3. Oversee vacations and planned objectives.
4. Develop work schedules and assign supervisors accordingly.
5. Initiate and monitor all safety policies.
6. Review completed accident reports.
7. Evaluate the performance of Associates.
8. Ensure warehouse and grounds are clean and orderly at all times.
9. Conduct performance reviews.
10. Interview and hire the most qualified candidates for openings.
11. Ensure all warehouse personnel are trained on equipment.
12. Provide coaching, counseling, and discipline, including termination if necessary.
13. Responsible for budget planning and forecasting.
14. Handle high-level union interactions, including contract negotiations and disciplinary procedures.
15. Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 10 years of warehouse management experience; OR 15 years of warehouse management experience.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Previous experience in a union environment.
• Related training or certification.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Previous experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
