Job summary

EXPANSIA is seeking a full-time TIG Welder in Hollywood, MD with the ability to obtain Secret Clearance. Nightshift is 2pm-1am Mon-Thur (4-10s). Responsibilities include welding per project plans, creating production fixtures, and reading blueprints for aerospace fabrication.

Required: High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years in aerospace welding; AWS D17.1 certification preferred. Able to lift 75 lbs and work overtime as needed; AutoCAD and OrCAD/Altium experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Clearance: ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
• High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of aerospace welding experience.
• Current AWS D17.1 certification (aluminum, carbon steel, or stainless steel) is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work overtime/weekends as required.
• Experience reading schematics/drawings and using welding-related CAD tools.

OVERVIEW

The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a government clearance and must have good knowledge and understanding of welding applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
• Education and Years of Experience: High School Diploma/GED and 4+ Year of experience as a commercial/ aerospace welder.
• Current and valid certification(s) a plus.
• AutoCAD for schematics and drawings
• OrCAD (preferred) or similar EDA tools (e.g., Altium) for PCB development
• Good knowledge & understanding of heat applications, heat absorbents during welding operations to prevent warpages of parts.
• General knowledge of shop practices including layout, drilling, sawing, grinding, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a daily basis.
• Must wear approved PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as required

$31.76 - $39.71 an hour There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
