Job summary

EXPANSIA is seeking a full-time TIG Welder in Hollywood, MD to join the Aether Aerospace defense platform. The role requires the ability to obtain a government Secret Clearance and works 6am-4pm Mon-Thu, 6am-3pm Friday. Proficiency in welding, blueprint reading, and fixture creation is essential.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED and 1+ year aerospace welding experience. AutoCAD, OrCAD, or similar tools are used for schematics; OSHA PPE safety is a must.

OVERVIEW

Full-time/Permanent Employee Location: Hollywood, MD and Day Shift: 6am-4pm Mon-Thur and 6am-3pm Friday

We are seeking a full-time TIG Welder to join our team. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a government clearance and must have good knowledge and understanding of welding applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform different weld methods based on project requirements
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand.
• Creating fixturing for production welding environments
• Possession of current AWS D17.1 certification (aluminum, carbon steel, or stainless steel)

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
• Education and Years of Experience: High School Diploma/GED and 1+ Year of experience as a commercial/ aerospace welder. Current and valid certification(s) a plus.
• AutoCAD for schematics and drawings
• OrCAD (preferred) or similar EDA tools (e.g., Altium) for PCB development
• Good knowledge & understanding of heat applications, heat absorbents during welding operations to prevent warpages of parts.
• General knowledge of shop practices including layout, drilling, sawing, grinding, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a daily basis.
• Must wear approved PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as required

$21.99 - $30.53 an hourThere are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
