Overview




Otter Products is hiring for a Sr. Test Technician to join our Test Engineering team in Fort Collins, CO.

The Sr. Test Technician will play a key role to ensure quality of the company's core products and new technologies through testing. The Sr. Test Technician will collaborate with the Test Engineering and Design Engineering team to facilitate product testing to internal and external performance/quality requirements. This role is responsible for collecting data, interpreting data, and communicating results. The Sr. Test Technician demonstrates good judgement to improve and/or create test methods and test fixtures as well as identify areas for efficiency improvements and lead the implementation of these improvements. The Sr. Test Technician trains and mentors others on commonly used systems and processes as well as ensure compliance with test, safety, and security procedures.

Responsibilities




    Support all of the organization's product testing needs including (but not limited to): Fit and function compatibility, shock and drop, environmental exposure, water and dust ingress, mechanical cycling, material property testing
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity of work and test requests
  • Use good verbal and written communication to convey all aspects of testing
  • Effectively train and mentor less experienced test team members
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Ensure on time and accurate execution of tests
  • Conduct themselves and their work with high integrity and professionalism
  • Work well with teams but able to work individually with minimal supervision
  • Troubleshoot and analyze failures
  • Adaptable to changing priorities
  • Demonstrate technical leadership ability
  • Perform duties that limits downtime of lab equipment or resources. Duties include equipment preventative maintenance, equipment calibration, as well as maintain stock of consumables
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned





Qualifications




  • Associates Degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of applicable mechanical testing experience required.
  • One year of technical leadership preferred.
