Job description

Job Summary

Based on-site in our Naval Electronics' Display, Processing, and Networking Center of Excellence located in Johnstown, PA, this position will provide technical support to engineers on complex components, devices, materials, products, processes, and/or equipment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, sketches, and running sheets of significant complexity.
  • Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certifications.
  • Assist in training new team members.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure efficient flow of information and materials.
  • Perform Key Performance Indicators:
    • Meet production deadlines
    • Maintain quality of finished products (Pass/fail rates)
    • Monitor raw material stock levels
    • Ensure compliance outcomes
  • Diagnose causes of electrical, optical, or mechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Modify complex electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Perform standard testing processes on various equipment and record results.
  • Utilize industry-specific tests and testing equipment, including alignment and troubleshooting test failures.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Requires an associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or a related area.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Experience handling small delicate components, using ESD practices.
  • Soldering and wire bonding experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Access, Excel, and LabVIEW.
  • Experience with MRP is a plus.
  • Good mechanical skills.
