Job summary

United Trading Group seeks an IT Analyst III - Senior Test Automation Engineer in a hybrid Salt Lake City setting. You will design and maintain automated tests in Python using Playwright and Pytest, following a strict POM approach and robust locator strategies.

You will drive CI/CD pipelines, security scans, and test data planning to ensure high-quality software releases. The role requires mentoring QA staff, leading code reviews, and close collaboration with developers in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Experience with Jira, Azure Boards, or other PM tools.
Experience with YAML for CI/CD in GitHub Actions, Gitlab Pipelines, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
Deep understanding of the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern and OO architecture.
Lead and mentor QA team members.
Experience writing automated tests with Pytest and advanced fixtures.
Experience with backend API testing using Postman.
Experience with Oracle, SQL, MySQL databases.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
Familiarity with axe-core accessibility testing tools.

Responsibilities

Design, write, and maintain automated testing solutions in Python with Playwright and Pytest.
Adhere to POM architecture; use explicit banners, visual outdenting, proper component composition.
Enforce locator strategies; prefer Playwright built-ins with XPath as last resort.
Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
Run security scans and fix vulnerabilities with developers.
Select testing methods to evaluate updates and changes.
Prepare comprehensive test scenarios and data for testing activities.
