Job summary

Halo Investing in downtown Chicago is seeking a QA Automation Engineer specializing in Playwright, with 3–5 years of software test automation experience, to design, build, and maintain robust end-to-end test suites.

You will develop Python-based automated tests, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA colleagues in an Agile environment to define comprehensive test strategies and ensure high-quality web applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, with 3–5 years of professional experience in Software Test Automation / Quality Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building test suites with Playwright.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Proven experience configuring test execution inside CI tools (e.g., managing pipeline triggers, matrices, and test artifacts/traces).
• Expert knowledge of the Page Object Model (POM), data-driven testing, test isolation, and API testing.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and Docker, as well as SQL/NoSQL for test data setup and teardown.

Responsibilities

• Framework Development: Design, scale, and maintain stable end-to-end (E2E) and integration testing frameworks using Playwright.
• Test Scripting: Write clean, modular automated test scripts primarily utilizing Python.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into DevOps pipelines.
• Test Optimization: Debug flaky tests, optimize execution speed, and implement stable locator strategies.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with developers, product managers, and manual QA peers in an Agile/Scrum environment to review requirements and define comprehensive test strategies.
