Job summary

R Systems in Sacramento, CA is seeking an experienced Test Analyst for a long-term contract to join a public-sector modernization effort. You will coordinate with business, functional, and technical testers, define test execution goals, and drive defect validation and escalation.

The role requires strong experience with test artifacts (BRs, test plans, test cases, transition plans, traceability matrices) and hands-on use of ALM tools such as JAMA, plus automation familiarity with Selenium,

Qualifications

• At least ten (10) years within the last twelve (12) years performing as a test analyst leading or participating in modernization of legacy applications.
• Experience coordinating business, functional and technical testers to set up test goals and objectives.
• Defect management responsibilities including validation, follow-up, and escalation for all defects.
• At least eight (8) years in the last twelve (12) years using Test ALM tools (e.g., JAMA) to document requirements, design specs, test cases, defects with full traceability.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with a team of business, functional and technical testers to set up test execution goals and objectives.
• Manage defects with validation, follow-up, and escalation actions for all defects.
• Produce test execution and defect metrics (burn down charts and trends) for project teams.
• Review and contribute to project deliverables and artifacts such as BRs, rules, test strategies, plans and test cases.

Mandatory Qualification:

• At least ten (10) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years performing the following activities while working as a test analyst with large organizations, leading or participating in the technical implementation or modernization of legacy applications:
• Coordinating with a team of business, functional and technical testers to set up test execution goals and objectives.
• Defect management being responsible for validation, follow-up, solution verification, and escalation actions for all defects encountered for the application.
• Producing test execution and defect metrics as necessary for the project teams comprising of burn down charts and trends.
• At least ten (10) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years reviewing, developing, and / or providing input to project deliverables and artifacts produced during the project such as the following:
• Business Requirements and Business Rules
• Technical and Service Requirements
• Test Strategies
• Test Plans
• Test Cases
• Transition Plans
• Traceability Matrices
• At least eight (8) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years using Test Application Lifecycle Management tools such as JAMA to document functional and non-functional requirements, design specifications, test cases, defects and providing full traceability for the project.
• At least eight (8) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years having a good hands-on experience of working with large databases, using and writing SQL Queries for finding data for testing applications or Interfaces.

Desired Qualification:

• Experience as a Test Analyst working with a public pension system of similar size to client.
• Experience as a Test Analyst leading or participating in the technical implementation of pension/retirement-related software development projects.
• At least five (5) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years designing, developing, and performing testing using testing automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber and ROBOT Framework.
