Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Sr. Terminal System Engineer for the Leo Customer Terminal team.

This role leads a multi-disciplinary engineering group focused on architecture, integration, and verification of customer terminals for global connectivity via the Leo satellite network. Responsibilities include developing validation strategies, enabling cross-functional collaboration, and delivering compliant, high-performance terminal solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of satellite terminal development, integration, and validation experience.
  • Experience leading an engineering team.
  • Experience with communication systems, RF, and antenna.
  • Experience in MATLAB, Python or C++.
  • Experience with test instruments such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, channel emulators, and GNSS emulators.

  • Develop the CT architecture with sub-system engineers across disciplines (electrical, RF, antenna, thermal, modem, DSP, ASIC, algorithm, firmware, modeling, and software).

  • Investigate and resolve validation failures by leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory, and business requirements.
  • Perform in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, your responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of talented engineers, provide mentorship and career growth opportunity

A day in the life

As a Sr. Terminal System Engineer on the Amazon Leo Customer Terminal Team, you will work daily with electrical hardware, RF, antenna, silicon, and product design engineers, as well as software and operations teams in a collaborative environment. Your focus will be on architecting, integrating, and verifying customer terminal functional performance to ensure it delights our customers.

About the team

The Leo Customer Terminal team is responsible for developing both outdoor & indoor devices, enabling customers internet service via the Leo satellite network. We own the entire process from early prototypes through mass production including requirements documents, architecture definition, hardware development, and all integration/verification testing.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of satellite terminal development, integration, and validation experience
  • Experience leading an engineering team
  • Experience with communication systems, RF, and antenna
  • Experience in MATLAB, Python or C++
  • Experience with test instruments such as spectrum analyzer, vector signal analyzers, channel emulators, and GNSS emulators
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master or PhD degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of digital communication systems, error correction, synchronization, spread spectrum, single and multi-carrier techniques, and modulation types such as QPSK, APSK, and QAM
  • Understanding of free space communication and satellite link budget principals in K band
  • Experience in developing simulation and modeling tools
  • Strong expertise in statistical methods, data analytics, and measurement data post-processing to characterize system performance
  • Familiarity with active and passive RF components, beamforming circuits, electromagnetic propagation
  • Satellite over-the-air Communication field-trial experience
  • Experience working with mobility satellite terminals such as maritime and aeronautical
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
