Overview
Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements software that runs computers and technologies like smart devices, networking equipment, or machinery | Determines systems software design requirements | Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency | Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures | May participate in all aspects of software development, from detailed programming to high-level system design | Experience reviewing Statements of Work, gathering customer requirements, and working with other engineers to ensure compliance, Verification and Validation (V&V) | Experience leading and/or managing projects (schedule or technical) | Customer interface, creating engineering review presentations or participating or leading design reviews, Preliminary Design Review(PDR), Critical Design Review(CDR), etc.
Major Position Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and
- integration, and technical services and support.
- Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware,
- software, and various configurations.
- Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
- Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
- Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
- May have sole responsibility for projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
Basic Qualifications
Required Education: Associate's Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
Discipline/Major: General Engineering or specialized Engineering degree required
Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 5-7 years experience in a relevant function
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Technical expertise. Analytical thinking skills. Problem-solving skills.
