Playfly Sports is looking for an Sr. Staff Accountant to join our team in XXXX.

The Finance team supports Playfly Sports' various marketing and media divisions, collaborating with all organizational levels to assist with financial operations. This role will focus on general ledger and transactional accounting with an emphasis on revenue recognition policy and recording. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in multiple businesses, working with each division on adhering to its revenue recognition policy. This provides the opportunity for initiative and judgment in executing accounting processes, procedures and financial reporting that supports timely and accurate decision making.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions
  • Maintain revenue recognition schedules for each business unit and coordinate information with division finance leads
  • Review contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Lead efforts to establish and/or review revenue recognition policies and procedures
  • Prepare and record journal entries for multiple business units by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
  • Hold monthly meetings with business partners
  • Assist with schedules and analysis for Media division balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors
  • Support and consult company's personnel on accounting control procedures
  • Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements
  • Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Public accounting experience and/or CPA designation a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting processes and procedures (GAAP)
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment
