Job summary

i270 Solutions Group LLC in Sterling, VA seeks a senior ServiceNow engineer who will own configuration, extension, and integration of the platform, building workflows and applications to support the customer’s operations. You will decompose work into Jira stories, collaborate in Agile, ensure security requirements are applied, and produce documentation.

About the Role

This is a senior, hands-on ServiceNow role. You will own how the platform is configured, extended, and integrated for the customer - building the workflows and applications the organization runs on, and making the design decisions that keep the instance maintainable as it grows.

What You Will Do

• Configure, extend, and maintain the ServiceNow platform for the customer environment.
• Design and build workflows, integrations, and applications on the platform.
• Troubleshoot platform and integration issues to root cause.
• Apply the customer's security requirements throughout platform configuration and data handling.
• Decompose work accurately into Jira stories and deliver within Agile practices.
• Hold a total system perspective across cloud services, infrastructure, and security domains - understanding the relationships, dependencies, and requirements among them.
• Produce technical documentation others can execute against.

Required Qualifications

Certification and background

• DoDD 8140 compliance. Security+ CE certification at minimum, held at time of hire.
• ServiceNow certification.
• 10 years of ServiceNow experience.
• Bachelor's degree. STEM DEGREE

Platform expertise - the core of the role

• Senior ServiceNow engineering. Demonstrated expertise delivering projects of similar scope on the platform.
• Expert troubleshooting and solutioning ability.

Security and delivery

• Secure environment experience. [Original read "understanding of all security related requirements in secure environments." Name the actual framework - RMF, STIG compliance, a specific accreditation process - so candidates can be screened against something concrete.]
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including accurate decomposition of work into Jira stories.
• Strong technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• STEM degree.
• Experience leading technical direction across cloud services, infrastructure, and security domains.
• Configuring end-to-end visibility, monitoring, and analytics tooling such as AppDynamics or Dynatrace.
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Systems engineering experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, Teamwork Cloud and Cameo, Microsoft Project, or Tableau.
• Integration of virtualized applications, including application streaming or layering techniques.
