Role Details
  • This Sales Executive role can be filled at the Sales Executive level or Senior Sales Executive level. Please see minimum qualifications listed below for each level.

Sales Executive Level:

Expected salary range of $100,800 to $112,000, plus benefits including commission and 401(k).

Senior Sales Executive Level:

Expected salary range of $127,800 to $142,000, plus benefits including commission and 401(k).

Location

This is a territory-based, field sales role supporting customers within the northern Mid-West United States. The role offers flexibility to work from home but requires weekly/daily travel within the territory. Candidates should reside in Michigan or Illinois, preferably in Springfield, IL or Lansing, Ann Arbor, Detroit, MI areas. Up to 75% travel is expected, with expenses covered by the company.

Primary Purpose of the Position

Sales Executives/Senior Sales Executives - Building Systems are responsible for closing new Energy Efficiency projects. This consultative sales role focuses on identifying, developing, and closing construction-project-based solutions aligned with customer goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive annual sales for Energy Efficiency, Resiliency, and Sustainability projects.
  • Manage designated sales territory to secure new business.
  • Maintain a sales pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Conduct in-person customer meetings to identify needs and challenges.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project alignment with sales strategy.
  • Build professional presence through trade shows, conferences, and networking.
  • Leverage contacts for prospecting and business development.
  • Develop and submit sales forecasts.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and events.
  • Senior Level: Lead project interviews, presentations, and stakeholder engagements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - Sales Executive Level
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of solutions-based sales experience in relevant industries.
  • Or experience selling in other sectors with an established contact base in government or education markets.
  • Proven success in managing sales territories and closing sales.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and CRM skills.
Minimum Qualifications - Senior Sales Executive Level
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of solutions-based sales experience in relevant industries.
  • Or experience in other sectors with an established contact base.
  • Proven success in complex sales and managing sales cycles over 12 months.
  • Strong network and relationship management skills, including with C-suite executives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of building and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with Energy Savings Performance Contracting and related fields.
  • Experience managing long sales cycles and formal sales training.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
