Overview

Summary:

Shermco Industries is seeking a Data Center Subject Matter Expert to work as Sr. Director of Tech Sales. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and a background in selling services to Data Centers, such as electrical engineering services, construction, commissioning, bridge power, etc. This role involves driving strategy and overseeing sales teams in the data center and semiconductor sectors. Travel is approximately 50%. We prefer candidates to work remotely from Phoenix, AZ; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; or Northern VA. Other locations near a major airport will also be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all sales team members and processes
  • Set sales goals and quotas
  • Create and manage the sales department budget
  • Produce sales forecasts and reports
  • Research market and competitors
  • Develop and execute strategies for the Data Center and Semiconductor markets
  • Train, mentor, and motivate the sales team
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional materials
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Develop comprehensive account plans with measurable metrics and KPIs
  • Set and monitor targets for the national sales department
  • Establish trusting relationships with clients
  • Meet with clients and account managers regularly
  • Ensure proper account management and maintenance
  • Supervise regional sales staff
  • Address client complaints and queries
  • Promote new services and products
  • Report on account status to senior management
  • Lead presentations for national accounts
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and new sales opportunities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, business management, business science, or related field; relevant experience may substitute
  • Minimum of 5 years in leadership and sales experience targeting Data Centers, especially electrical services, construction, commissioning, bridge power, etc.; experience in related services or project management within data center infrastructure is also considered
  • Knowledge of Colocation (Colo), bridge power, and electrical infrastructure
  • Proven sales performance with a strong understanding of sales metrics and technical indicators
  • Analytical, strategic thinking, and decisive leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, client-relations, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a client-focused approach
