Job Summary
This is an "in person" role in Houston, TX. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Buyer to lead our procurement effort. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of materials, ensuring optimal inventory control, and collaborating with various departments to meet organizational goals. This role requires a strong understanding, and experience working in SAP, materials management, and logistics to effectively support our supply chain operations. We are looking to purchase at the best price, requiring high quality and need to ensure "on time deliveries".

Responsibilities

• Ability to create, negotiate, and issue RFQ and purchase orders in response to material requirements established by manufacturing, field operation, and special projects.
• Ability to vet, review, and access current & new suppliers delivery times, quality and pricing.
• Utilize SAP for tracking purchases, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, production, and finance to align procurement activities with company objectives.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Display a heightened sense of urgency, ensuring that all procurement exercises get accomplished in a timely fashion so as to minimize the time to manufacture/receive.
• Prepare reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and inventory status for management review.
• Able to review manufacturing drawings and discuss requirements & challenges
• Support Accounts Payable in any variance regarding invoicing.

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience in Oil & Gas, Directional Drilling / Manufacturing of Drilling Tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement or materials management, manually and face to face if required.
• Strong knowledge base in outsourced machining, electronics manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and MRO.
• Strong knowledge of MRP systems and logistics operations.
• Proficiency in SAP software applications.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
• Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail for effective decision-making.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
