Plan the procurement of materials required to support Customer Demand and New Product introduction, and develop and execute the business unit production schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and plan materials requirements and place purchase orders from outside suppliers to support production schedules and new product launches, including:
- Negotiating and forecasting prices and delivery; Monitoring PPV (purchasing price variance)
- Partnering with suppliers to ensure materials meet specifications
- Leading cross-functional teams to resolve obstacles, such as non-conforming materials, unclear specifications, or vendor capacity constraints
- Analyzing current EW and VMI levels to determine if VMI release is warranted, and communicating inventory and future requirements to suppliers
- Expediting purchase orders and materials through receiving, inspection, and storage
- Participating in the Material Review Board (MRB) for supplier-related issues, including quality reviews and final dispositions
- Evaluating and monitoring equipment/assets acquisition via CPA process
Establish and maintain inventory targets; develop action plans to meet these targetsIdentify, plan, and implement cost and cycle time reduction initiativesUpdate MRP parameters within the Manufacturing Enterprise systemPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipEducation and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing and/or production control
- Master's Degree or equivalent preferred
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, Word, and ERP systems
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Knowledge of Edwards policies, procedures, and guidelines related to purchasing and production control
- Understanding of MRP and inventory management programs (e.g., JIT/Kanban, Min/Max)
- Awareness of market and economic indicators and procurement practices
