J+H Automation Solutions seeks a Senior Project Manager to deliver complex industrial automation projects from inception to closeout. You will coordinate engineering, manufacturing, and field teams to meet scope, timeline, and budget, while maintaining strong client relations.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of customer projects from contract award through design, build, installation, startup, and closeout. Working independently or with limited supervision, this person coordinates engineering, manufacturing, and field resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the customer’s satisfaction. The role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and oversees Field Service and Installation team members at client facilities. Reports to the Manager, Project Management Group.
Project Leadership & Delivery: serve as the primary customer contact from project kickoff through final acceptance; develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and resource plans and communicate progress through regular status reports and meetings; manage project budgets, track actual costs against estimates, and protect project margins; identify scope changes and prepare change orders for customer approval; identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues; prepare project adder quotes and cost estimates in support of the sales team; lead project closeout, including final documentation, customer sign-off, and billing milestones.
Electrical Engineering Projects: review project requirements and schedules with customers; assist with procurement of components and materials; manage the design, fabrication, and installation of electrical control panels; oversee testing, debug, and startup of system installations through customer acceptance.
Mechanical Engineering Projects: supervise and review mechanical designs for industrial machinery, including tooling for existing equipment, retrofits, and complete new machines, per the specifications in the bid proposal; review mechanical assembly and detail drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; assist with procurement of components and materials; perform shop runoff (factory acceptance testing), oversee installation, and field test equipment through customer acceptance.
Team Leadership & Safety: assist with leading, scheduling, and supporting Field Service and Installation team members; coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales to resolve issues and keep projects on track; promote and enforce safe work practices in the shop and at customer sites in line with OSHA and customer site safety requirements.
Location & Travel: remote, with regular travel to our Hackett, AR headquarters in the Fort Smith area and to customer facilities, primarily within the United States (approximately 20% travel, including overnight stays).
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in industrial automation, custom machinery, or material handling; proven history of managing personnel and multiple concurrent projects.
Required Skills: ability to work in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary environment; ability to manage multiple people, tasks, and projects at once; excellent verbal and written communication and customer relations skills; experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience in Microsoft Project and PowerPoint; valid driver's license and the ability to travel, including overnight stays.
Preferred: working knowledge of industrial automation controls (PLCs, HMIs, drives, robotics); mechanical or electrical experience in the design, build, and support of custom machinery or material handling equipment at the system or machine level; project quoting and estimating experience.
Working Conditions: office, fabrication shop, and customer manufacturing facilities; must follow site safety rules and wear required PPE; may require standing, walking, climbing ladders, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
