About the job

We’re seeking a Product Manager with a passion for finance and strong analytical skills, coupled with excellent business judgment, to drive Hopper’s financial reporting automation initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Finance Operations and Control, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, you will oversee the project management of the Finance Automation (FinAut) team of developers. Your role involves strategic oversight and establishing priorities aligned with our North Star Objectives.

Your responsibilities include implementing process improvements and automation projects, managing the output of engineering teams, and maintaining a high level of autonomy and accountability for team success.

The primary product under your support will be a finance ledger that consolidates various sources into a real-time, unified view used for financial reporting, partner billing, invoice reconciliation, and internal analysis.

Daily responsibilities:

1. Develop, document, and execute the FinAut roadmap in collaboration with the Head of Finance Engineering and key finance stakeholders.
2. Identify opportunities for FinAut to add value within the finance organization, considering business risks and growth areas.
3. Define, scope, and gather requirements for all projects within the FinAut team.
4. Prioritize and triage engineering on-call requests, making swift decisions to address urgent issues.
5. Monitor project progress against the roadmap and goals, providing insights from a business/finance perspective.
6. Ensure data integrity of the ledger, working closely with business and product teams to resolve complex data issues and communicate solutions effectively.

Ideal candidate profile:

• Experience: 3-4 years in product management, preferably with financial data products, with a proven track record of successful product development and enhancements used by diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical skills: Proficiency in working with data, making insights-based recommendations, and mandatory SQL knowledge.
• Technical ability: Deep enough to communicate effectively with software developers and finance teams.
• Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal skills to articulate technical and non-technical information and collaborate across teams.
• Flexibility: Ability to pivot priorities seamlessly in response to business needs.
