Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex automation and installation projects in a hybrid US environment. You will drive delivery, manage risks, and align with client and stakeholder expectations to ensure profitability and quality.

As a senior leader, you will mentor project managers, implement standards, and collaborate with engineering and field teams to resolve technical challenges while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of project management experience in construction, automation, industrial installation, material handling, or related industries.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi-million-dollar projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation technologies, and construction documentation.
• Successful experience managing project financials, forecasting, contracts, and change orders.

Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Location Requirements: Hybrid, on-site in the US

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Role Overview:
You will lead the successful delivery of complex, high-value automation and installation projects. As a senior leader in the project management organization, you will drive project performance, mentor project managers, and ensure consistent application of standards and best practices. You’ll oversee project execution, manage risks, and forge strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to achieve operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of complex installation and automation projects
• Develop integrated project schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, field operations, and subcontractors
• Ensure project deliverables meet contractual, quality, and operational requirements
• Drive accountability across project teams to meet objectives
• Own project budgets, cost forecasting, cash flow, and margins
• Evaluate project performance and implement corrective actions for variances
• Manage change orders, claims, and commercial negotiations
• Ensure contractual obligations are properly enforced
• Provide accurate forecasting and executive project reporting
• Serve as primary contact for clients and executive stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong client relationships during project execution
• Manage expectations through proactive communication and issue resolution
• Lead project risk management, including risk plans, assessments, and mitigation
• Oversee change management processes and document approvals
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project and operational risks
• Lead technical guidance on mechanical, electrical, automation, and controls activities
• Support constructability reviews and execution planning
• Collaborate with engineering and field teams to resolve technical challenges
• Promote adherence to project standards, methodologies, and quality expectations
• Mentor and develop project managers and emerging leaders
• Share best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead efforts to improve efficiency, quality, and project outcomes
• Make project-level decisions on schedule, resources, staffing, and commercial issues
• Approve project plans, recovery strategies, and change actions within delegated authority
• Provide guidance to project teams and recommend organizational improvements

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of project management experience in construction, automation, industrial installation, material handling, or related industries
• Proven experience managing complex, multi-million-dollar projects
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation technologies, and construction documentation
• Successful experience managing project financials, forecasting, contracts, and change orders
• Leadership experience in cross-functional teams and mentoring project managers
• Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management skills
• Advanced proficiency in project scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and Microsoft Office tools
