Job summary

AGCO is seeking a Sr Project Engineer, Research & Advanced Engineering to join our team in Pune. The role focuses on developing concepts and technologies for agricultural machinery, including sprayers and planters, with emphasis on autonomous systems and machine perception.

The position involves designing assistance systems (Non-GNSS guidance, operator assistance), applying machine learning and computer vision to sensor data (cameras, radars, LiDARs) to advance autonomy in agriculture.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 5–7 years total experience with at least 3 years in relevant fields.
• Image processing tools such as OpenCV or Matlab are required.
• Machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow are required.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of agricultural equipment, agronomy and farming practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop computer vision algorithms and train/validate ML models to solve agricultural problems.
• Develop and deliver proofs of concepts for further development.
• Coordinate annotation tasks with internal or external partners.
• Collaborate with Global R&A, Agronomy, and Product Engineering teams.
• Create patentable design features to maintain competitive advantage.

AGCO is looking to hire candidates for the position of Sr Project Engineer, Research & Advanced Engineering.

We’re seeking a Project Engineer, Research & Advanced Engineering to join our team in Pune. This role will focus on developing new concepts and technology for Agricultural Machinery including Sprayers and Planters. The Project engineer will design and develop assistance systems such as Non-GNSS guidance systems and operator assistance systems, paving the way for robotics and unmanned agricultural machines. Utilize machine learning and computer vision to enhance environmental perception and automate sprayer and planter processes. Work with a variety of sensors, including cameras, radars, and lidars, to advance autonomy and robotics in agricultural machinery.

Your Impact

• Develop Computer Vision algorithms and train and validate machine learning models to solve agricultural problems

Your Experience and Qualifications
