AGCO in Hesston, KS is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to design wiring harnesses for mobile agricultural machinery, primarily Gold Harvest combines within NA, with global support as needed.
Responsibilities include defining circuits, routing harnesses, and specifying components for 12/24-volt systems using Creo Parametric Cabling and Zuken E3. Collaboration spans engineering, manufacturing, service, and purchasing.
Not everyone can claim to feed the world, but it is part of our everyday. Behind everything we do for our farmers, there is one AGCO team making it happen. We are proud to put our curiosity into work, building a better and more sustainable world.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing wiring harnesses and specifying electrical components for mobile agricultural machinery. Primary focus will be on Gold Harvest combines NA; however, other global support on similar products may occur.
Key types of tasks will include circuit definition and routing of harnesses on harvesting equipment. This type of design is primarily related to 12/24‑volt systems and requires the ability to understand, read, and create wiring diagrams. It also includes the need to specify electrical components such as relays, fuses, speed sensors, and pressure transducers. Harness routing is a key component of the overall design process, using CAD modeling tools, CREO Parametric Cabling, and Zuken E3 for the logic schematic.
Design electrical circuits and wiring harnesses, including schematics and 2D/3D CAD routing within virtual models. Experience with electrical circuit layout tools is preferred; experience with agricultural, construction, or similar machinery is a plus.
Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, product service, purchasing, and other internal groups. Strong written and verbal English communication is required.
Provide timely support to the technical service team and contribute to internal product and service training, including field test activities.
Support manufacturing and vendors by resolving design‑related issues, preparing technical specifications, and coordinating engineering sample procurement.
Thrive in a small, high‑output global team with a proactive, innovative mindset; demonstrate strong decision‑making, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines. Participate in design reviews and project updates.
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree is preferred, minimum 4‑year degree. Other related fields will be considered based on experience.
Experience with CAD modeling tools such as Creo or similar is required. Ability to understand, read, and create wiring diagrams.
Ability to specify electrical components for mobile machinery, such as relays, fuses, speed sensors, and pressure transducers.
Proficient in written and oral communication in English; team is located across 3 sites in NA, SA, and EME.
Capable of working effectively with cross‑functional engineering teams, product service, manufacturing, purchasing, and other internal groups.
