The Senior Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. This nurse is responsible for setting standards for care quality and is accountable for nursing care provision. They manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The Senior Professional Staff Nurse establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve optimal patient outcomes across the continuum of care. They demonstrate a commitment to the community and the nursing profession.
