Job summary

Sr. Project Engineer

Job Description

The Project Engineer is responsible for interfacing with sales and customers to define requirements and specifications, establishing timelines, action items, responsibilities, and milestones. They provide technical support to manufacturing, develop processes, and coordinate tooling and mold builds with vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage projects, report status, and document lessons learned using project management tools.
  2. Lead launch activities, participate in feasibility, FMEA, DFM, and design reviews.
  3. Support quoting by determining manufacturing methods and tooling concepts.
  4. Interface with sales and customers to clarify requirements.
  5. Coordinate with tooling vendors for mold builds.
  6. Execute validation protocols and follow SOPs for re-validation.
  7. Develop new processes and tooling concepts to meet customer expectations.
  8. Provide technical support on the manufacturing floor.
  9. Lead process improvements and waste reduction initiatives.
  10. Collaborate with Quality Control to update and implement documentation.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in rubber and/or silicone molding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software; CAD skills are a plus.
  • Experience in medical devices is preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, sit, stand, and work in various environments including cleanrooms and warehouses.
