Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Ground-Based Radar to lead integrated software and hardware systems engineering across a large, multi-site program.

You will ensure a coherent technical baseline and apply SE/CM best practices while coordinating across IPTs and external customers. The ideal candidate has strong experience in requirements decomposition, traceability, and driving major technical reviews, with the ability to translate CONOPS into integrated

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 8+ years of related experience, or Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active U.S. Secret security clearance at time of application.
• Proven experience leading systems engineering for ground-based radar or similar large-scale sensor systems.
• Experience leading multi-site or geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience applying SE/CM best practices across complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical leader across a multi-site, multi-disciplinary team.
• Lead software and hardware systems engineering with requirements decomposition and traceability.
• Champion SE best practices: requirements management, interface definition, V&V, risk management.
• Champion CM to maintain baselines and change control across sites.
• Provide SE guidance across radar, site activation, and compute IPTs.
• Translate customer requirements into system requirements and allocate to software/hardware.
• Perform functional analysis and system trades across concept to sustainment.
• Develop interface control documents (ICDs) and test/verification artifacts.
• Support integration, test, and verification activities across locations.
• Define and report technical performance measures for SW/HW/system.
• Prepare materials for program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and communicate status to leadership.
