Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer – Ground-Based Radar to lead the development and performance of radar algorithms and mission capabilities.

The role spans concept to operational impact, collaborating across radar, systems, software, and mission engineering teams. You will translate system requirements into algorithm designs, perform analyses, plan software integration, and guide project teams within an IPT framework to ensure delivered

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 6 years OR PhD with 4 years.
Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required.
Experience with MATLAB and code prototyping.
Experience with the Systems Engineering lifecycle for system development.
Experience with signal processing and radar systems.
Experience with radar performance analysis and engineering tools.

Responsibilities

Develop and integrate radar algorithms to meet system performance objectives.
Translate system requirements into algorithm design and implementation plans.
Perform functional and performance analyses of radar systems and missions.
Develop mathematical algorithms for radar mode/sensor implementation.
Plan and support software integration of system algorithms for real-time behavior.
Conduct trajectory threat analysis and mission scenario modeling.
Support requirements derivation and performance data analysis.
Lead cross-disciplinary IPTs and provide technical guidance to the team.
