• Strong data-driven mindset to translate People data into actionable insights.
• Sound judgment navigating ambiguous or high-stakes employee matters.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategy and roadmap for People data and reporting, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights for leadership decisions.
• Serve as escalation point for complex employee matters involving benefits, leaves, time off, rotations, and other People Operations programs.
• Lead cross-functional People Operations initiatives that strengthen processes, policies, and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, proactively addressing risks.
• Build and maintain reporting and dashboard infrastructure used by People team and leadership.
• Lead cross-functional People Operations projects by setting priorities, coordinating work, and mentoring without formal authority.
• Identify gaps in processes and cadence, drive improvements, and document configurations and decisions.

Expected compensation: 45.00 - 60.00 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping our client find a Sr. People Operations Generalist to serve as an operational backbone of the People team during a period of significant growth and scale.

In this role, you'll own and improve critical People Operations processes, systems, data, and programs while serving as an escalation point for complex employee matters. You'll partner cross-functionally to strengthen People infrastructure, improve reporting and data integrity, and ensure programs and processes can scale effectively with the organization.

The ideal candidate has progressed beyond simply administering People processes and is ready to take ownership of how they operate and scale. You are proactive, data-driven, and comfortable independently navigating complex employee matters, identifying operational gaps, and leading initiatives without formal authority.

This is a part-time position with the potential to convert to full-time for the right candidate based on business needs and performance!

As a Sr. People Operations Generalist, You'll

• Develop and execute the strategy and roadmap for People data and reporting, ensuring data integrity and delivering actionable insights that support leadership decision-making.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex employee matters involving benefits, leaves, time off, rotations, and other People Operations programs.
• Lead cross-functional People Operations initiatives that strengthen and scale processes, policies, and operational infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
• Build and maintain reporting and dashboard infrastructure used by the People team and leadership.
• Lead cross-functional People Operations projects by setting priorities, coordinating work, and mentoring junior team members without formal reporting authority.
• Proactively identify gaps in People Operations processes and operational cadence, drive improvements, and maintain clear documentation of processes, configurations, and decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in People or HR operations, with demonstrated ownership of programs and processes
• Strong hands-on experience with Workday and People data, reporting, and operational workflows
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and influence peers and cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority
• Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to translate People data into actionable insights
• Sound independent judgment when navigating ambiguous, sensitive, or high-stakes employee matters
• Proactive, ownership-driven approach with the ability to identify and address operational gaps independently

Commitment:

This is a full-time, 6-month contract position (with the possibility of extension) staffed via HireArt.

This role is onsite in Sunnyvale, CA and available to candidates based in the Bay Area.
