Responsibilities

• Lead daily, biweekly, and special payroll processes for multi-state payroll for US non-exempt and exempt employees.
• Process payroll for up to 500 employees.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.
• Maintain payroll control records.
• Provide guidance to the team on payroll processing and tax laws.
• Assist with mentoring payroll specialists and act as backup for duties.
• Work with the team to respond to escalated employee inquiries.
• Authorize, review, and prepare complex payroll transactions.
• Assist with final payroll check calculation reviews.
• Assist in month/quarter/year-end close.
• Verify employment verifications, garnishments, and EDD notices as needed.
• Provide support to managers and employees with Workday time tracking and absence modules.
• Back up for payroll transmit.
