Job summary

Old Republic Title in Minnetonka, MN is seeking a payroll professional to join a hybrid office with 2 in‑office days per week. You will lead US multi‑state payroll processing for exempt and non‑exempt employees and support reconciliation and close processes.

The role requires 5–7 years of payroll experience, deep knowledge of wage and hour laws, garnishments, taxability, and proficiency in UKG, Workday, and Excel. CPP/FPC preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• UKG and Workday payroll systems expertise.
• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables and formulas.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-state payroll processes for US non-exempt and exempt employees.
• Process payroll for up to 500 employees.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.
• Maintain payroll control records.
• Provide guidance on payroll processing, tax laws, garnishments, system issues and general troubleshooting in payroll.
• Assist with mentoring of payroll specialists and as backup for their duties.
• Work with the team to research and respond to escalated employee inquiries.
• Authorizes, reviews, and prepare complex payroll transactions.
• Assist with final payroll check calculation review.
• Perform adhoc projects as needed.
• Assist in month/quarter/year-end close.
• Completes verification of employment verifications, garnishments, and EDD notices as needed.
• Provide support to managers and employees with Workday’s time tracking and absence modules.
• Back up for payroll transmit.
• Exemplifies professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
